Shelly Carter, CYT

Shelly has been practicing yoga since 2007 when she discovered and fell in love with it. In 2011 she lost her husband to cancer, and shortly after that she decided it was time to share her love of yoga through teaching. She is a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) and completed her 200-hour certification through Yoga Fit in 2015. She will complete her YogaFit 500-hour certification in the fall of 2020. This format has offered her a variety of teaching styles with numerous Master Trainers. She primarily teaches a Vinyasa style class and also specializes in teaching chair yoga.


In class she invites you to slow down, breathe, and listen to what your body is telling you at that moment. Her passion for discovering new aspects of yoga shows in every class she teaches as she shares these new experiences with you. She realizes that yoga helps her in many ways beyond the physical workout. It has guides and lifts her up every day. She encourages people to listen to what their bodies, brains, and hearts are telling them and express that on their mats. She inspires her students to push themselves with loving kindness and compassion and teaches in a way that creates a welcoming atmosphere for new as well as well-practiced yogis.
